Elizabeth Shippen Green
Elizabeth Shippen Green (* 1871 ; † 1954 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) was an American illustrator .
Elizabeth Shippen Green studied with Thomas Eakins at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and then at Drexel University under Howard Pyle . During that time she met the artists Violet Oakley and Jessie Willcox Smith . Since they lived in the same inn ( Red Rose Inn ), they were called The Red Rose Girls . In her later years, Elizabeth Shippen Green illustrated books for children and young people and was employed by Harper's Magazine .
