Elkhorn Ridge is a 16 km long mountain range of the Convoy Range in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It lies between the Towle Glacier and the Northwind Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the mountain range using geodetic surveys and aerial photographs from the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1964 after the USS Elkorn , a US tanker in McMurdo Sound from 1961 to 1962.
