The Elliott Glacier is a small glacier on the Budd coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . It flows into the Southern Ocean between Cape Hammersly and Cape Waldron .
Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map it. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the glacier after Samuel Bonnyman Elliott (1822–1876), midshipman aboard the sloop USS Vincennes , flagship of the United States Exploring Expedition (1838–1842) under the direction of the American polar explorer Charles Wilkes .
