Elmar Bereuter

Elmar Bereuter (* 1948 in Lingenau ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

Elmar Bereuter was born as the oldest of four children. He spent his childhood in the farming family between village life and alpine farming in the Bregenzerwald in Lingenau and the boarding school in Graz, which is over 500 km away .

He was initially the public relations (PR) manager of a large German mountain sports clothing manufacturer and has been running his own advertising agency since 1991 .

In 2002 he wrote his first novel Die Schwabenkinder , which served as a template for the film Schwabenkinder . Elmar Bereuter worked with the director Jo Baier . His book, which became a bestseller, made him known and more novels followed; they are among the historical novels .

Today he lives with his wife in a small town near Tettnang near Lake Constance.
