Elmar Güthoff

Elmar Güthoff (born March 26, 1961 in Hagen ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

The son of Franz Güthoff and Johanna Güthoff geb. Golüke studied theology in Paderborn and Munich . He completed a postgraduate course in canon law in Munich. To the Dr. iur. can. he received his doctorate in Rome in 1992 . In 1997 he was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD. After obtaining his habilitation in canon law from the University of Budapest in 1999 , he became a private lecturer there in 2000 . From 2001 to 2003 he was associate professor for canon law in Würzburg . Sonja Güthoff's husband (married on August 19, 2002) has been the honorary director of the Canon Institute at the University of Potsdam since 2002 . Since 2003 he has been teaching as a full professor for canon law with special attention to marriage, procedural and criminal law as well as state church law at the LMU Munich . He is a specialist representative for canon law in Augsburg . He is also one of the editors of the De Processibus Matrimonialibus magazine .
