Elmar Simon

Elmar Simon (born October 19, 1963 in Paderborn ) is a German chef.

Career

After training at the Count's Kurhaus in Bad Driburg , Simon went to the coppersmith's shop in Hildesheim in 1986 and in 1987 to Rockendorf's restaurant at Siegfried Rockendorf in Berlin , which he headed as head chef from 1990. In 1994 he trained as a master chef in Berlin .

In 1996 he opened his own restaurant Balthasar in Paderborn by the old synagogue, where he was awarded a Michelin star in 1998. In 2001 his restaurant moved into a new building. The restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star and at least 17 points in Gault-Millau for many years .
