Elsa Cardenas

Elsa Cárdenas Rentería (born August 3, 1935 in Tijuana , Baja California ) is a Mexican actress . She starred in over 100 films and television series, the vast majority of which were Mexican productions. She is still working as an actress and is currently (as of 2010) as Luciana de Irazabal in the Mexican television series Mar de amor .

Life

Elsa Cárdenas made her film debut in the Mexican production El joven Juárez (The Young Juárez ) from 1954. About two years later she made her international film debut alongside world stars such as Elizabeth Taylor , Rock Hudson and James Dean in the US feature film Giants ( 1956). While she played a rather minor supporting role as Juana Guerra Benedict in this film , she became known to an international audience in the role of the celebrated bullfighter Dolores Gómez as the second co-actress (alongside Ursula Andress ) of Elvis Presley in the film Acapulco (1963). About three years later Elsa Cárdenas appeared in an episode of the series Tarzan with Ron Ely in the title role.

On September 15, 1957, she married the Texan oil entrepreneur Guy Preston Patton. The couple lived in both Houston ( Texas ) and in Mexico, but already had a few years divorced later.

In 1962 she got engaged to Budd Boetticher , but the wedding did not take place and the two separated in 1964.
