Elsie copper

Elsie Mabel Kupfer (born September 5, 1877 in Bayreuth , † after 1933 ) was an American botanist . Its botanical author abbreviation is copper.

1899 concluded with the copper licentiate in biology at Columbia University from. In 1901 the Master of Science followed . She then worked as a teacher at Wadleigh High School. In 1907 she received her doctorate in Columbia with a thesis on studies in plant regeneration . She was a member of the Torrey Botanical Club and the New York Biology Teachers' Association.

She mainly worked on the classification of mushrooms. In addition, she researched the regeneration of plants, especially under which conditions they replace their shoots and roots.
