Öberg began biathlon in her childhood at Piteå Skidskytte Klubb and from 2015 attended the biathlon high school in Sollefteå for four years . During this time she achieved her first international successes. As early as 2017, the Swedish Biathlon Association recognized her as Newcomer of the Year after winning the bronze medal in the individual race at the Youth World Championships , the following year she became three-time youth world champion in Otepää : In the individual race and in the sprint, she won with one error and the fastest time Gold medal, in the relay she hit the last runner with all ten shots, caught up one minute behind and triumphed together with Amanda Lundström and Ella Halvarsson. In 2019 she won the relay bronze medal in the next higher age group of juniors with Lundström and Annie Lind and missed the podium by 0.2 seconds as a sprint fourth.
After her success at the Youth World Cup, 19-year-old Öberg trained with the Swedish A team from summer 2018. During the 2018/19 season , she received several appearances in the IBU Cup, the second highest competition series in the adult division, in which she achieved ninth place as the best result. In November 2019, Öberg made his debut in the World Cup and, as twelfth , immediately collected World Cup points in her first race - the sprint in front of a home crowd in Östersund . A few days later she ran in second position in the Swedish women's relay, which she handed over while in the lead and with which she was ultimately third on the podium in the World Cup for the first time. Öberg confirmed these results in the further course of the season, achieved the points of the top 40 in 17 of 19 individual starts, achieved eighth place in the sprint of Nové Město as the best result and finished 24th in the overall standings. She also contested a large part of the relay races and came in second place in Oberhof again among the top three. Personal
Öberg grew up in the northern Swedish province of Norrbotten : She was born in Kiruna and moved with her family to Svensbyn in the municipality of Piteå as a child .
