Elyaniv Felix Barda ( Hebrew אליניב ברדה; * December 15, 1981 in Beersheba ) is a former Israeli soccer player .

Career

Elyaniv Barda began his career in the youth of Hapoel Beer Sheva . In 1998 he made his debut for Beersheba in the Liga Leumit , the second highest Israeli division. He played a total of five years in the professional team at Be'er Scheva and in 2001 he made it to the Ligat ha'Al , the top division in Israeli football. After two more years he left the club and joined the traditional Israeli club Maccabi Haifa . He also received regular appearances in Haifa and scored twelve goals in 57 games in two years. He then moved to league rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv . With Hapoel he was able to win the Israeli Cup twice in a row . In the summer of 2007 he finally left his home and signed with the Belgian first division club KRC Genk . After he was able to achieve 16 goals in 32 games for Genk in the 2007/08 season, he was unable to build on these performances in the following two years. From 2013 to 2018 he played again for Hapoel Be'er Scheva and ended his career there after three more championships.

National team

Barda made his debut on March 24, 2007 in the European Championship qualification for EURO 2008 against England for the Israeli national team . In his fourth appearance for the national team, he scored his first goal against Russia. He scored six goals during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers, making it Israel's top scorer. In the home game against Luxembourg on September 9, 2009, he scored three goals in a 7-0 win. The attacker scored eleven goals in 38 international matches.
