The Elzebach (also called Elsbach or Elze = old name for alder) is a right-hand tributary of the Cunewald water with a length of 3.8 km in the southeastern district of Bautzen ( Saxony ).

In its lower reaches at Klipphausen (district of Cunewalde ) and down from the Buschmühle (today sawmill), alders and willows line the narrow water. In its middle course, where the stream flows through a narrow meadow band, it has long been straightened and without wood on the banks, but in summer with a narrow border of meadowsweet ( Filipendula ulmaria ), purple loosestrife ( Lythrum salicaria ) and dark green willowherb ( Epilobium obscurum ). In the upper reaches it flows through the Bautzner Stadtforst.

Together with a stream from the Sornßiger Weg, it drains the rain-rich forest area at the southern foot of the Hochstein and the Steinberg with individual spring veins . It receives another inflow in the middle course from Streitbuschweg on the Czornebohhang . In the upper reaches of the tributary there are small ponds at the edge of the forest. In Mittelcunewalde it flows into the Cunewalder water.
