Emanuel Franz Anton Eugen von Chaumontet (born January 1727 in Chaumont-Arrecy in Savoy , † March 18, 1788 in Bunzlau ) was a royal Prussian major general and brigadier of the light troops.

Life

Military career

In 1745 he was in royal Sardinian service. In 1751 he took his leave and switched to Prussian services, where he came to the king à la suite . On August 3, 1758, he was transferred to the Lüderitz Free Battalion as a captain . After the war, on July 9, 1765, he became a major in the king's entourage. On April 12, 1773, he was transferred to the newly established Infantry Regiment No. 51. There he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 23, 1773 and to colonel on September 24, 1776. On April 14, 1784 he was appointed commander of Infantry Regiment No. 51 and on September 24, 1784 he was promoted to major general and to the suite in Potsdam with a pension of 1,500 thalers. On July 21, 1786 he received the approval to form a free regiment in Löwenberg and Bunzlau. On August 24, 1786, the regiment began to be inspected by Lieutenant General Heinrich Wilhelm von Anhalt , and on September 1, 1786, the officers gathered in Löwenberg. On June 1, 1787 he became a brigadier of the light troops of the fusilier battalions in Silesia, for which he received a salary of 3000 thalers. He died on March 18, 1788 in Bunzlau.

The general was not married but had several children. After the general's death, on April 16, 1788, the king granted the mother and children an annual pension of 400 thalers. The money for this had to be made available by Major General Karl Philipp von Pollitz , who was also appointed by the King as Chief Guardian.
