Emanuel Labhardt (born March 11, 1810 in Steckborn ; † June 10, 1874 in Feuerthalen ) was a Swiss landscape painter , graphic artist and lithographer .

Live and act

Labhardt grew up in Steckborn. From 1827 he completed a four-year training course as a draftsman , painter , etcher and lithographer in the studio of Johann Heinrich Bleuler in Feuerthalen . In the following years Labhardt went on study trips to Lake Constance and Central Switzerland and toured several European countries.

In 1837 he founded a lithographic establishment in Feuerthalen. Labhardt mastered various painting and printing techniques, drawings, watercolors , gouaches , oil paintings, but also copper etchings, aquatints and lithographs are known from his work . He died on June 10, 1874 after a brief, serious illness.
