Emeraude Toubia (born March 1, 1989 in Montreal , Canada ) is a Canadian - American actress , presenter and model .

life and career

Emeraude Toubia was born in Montreal in March 1989 and grew up in Brownsville , Texas , United States . She is of Mexican and Lebanese descent.

Toubia's career began at the age of ten when it was hosted by a television show. In addition, she took part in several beauty pageants and was crowned Miss South Texas, RGV Miss America, Miss Teen Brownsville and Miss Texas USA in 2010.

Became famous for Toubia 2008 through their participation in the second season of Univision - reality show Nuestra Belleza Latina , which she left as runner-up. Through the show, she received ad campaigns for brands such as Maybelline , JC Penney , State Farm , Garnier , Sony, and AT&T . At the same time she began an acting training. In 2009 she took part in the second season of the casting show Modell Latina and finished 5th.

Toubia made her acting debut in 2010. In the next four years she was seen increasingly in supporting roles in Venezuelan telenovelas . From 2016 to 2019 Toubia played the role of Isabelle Lightwood in the freeform television series Shadowhunters . The series is based on the novel series Chronicles of the Underworld by Cassandra Clare .

Toubia has had a relationship with singer Prince Royce since 2011, but it was not officially confirmed until April 2016. They were married on November 30, 2018 in San Miguel de Allende , Mexico. The couple live in Studio City , Los Angeles .
