Emi first heard about R&B when she was six years old from her sister, who loved to listen to artists such as Janet Jackson , Michael Jackson and Joel Hailey . Inspired by this, she started writing her own songs at school at an early age. In later school she began to produce her first pieces of music. In 2006 she took part in the MTV Star Tour and performed in the Kinki region. A year later she got more and more collaboration offers and was featured on various albums by Japanese urban artists.
On 24 October 2007 she released her first extended play , under the name of Between the music , and founded the same time, for themselves, their own music label, they Freest Inc. has named. Their first single, I Gotta (Summer Kiss) , followed in August 2008.
But through the setbacks, she signed a record deal with Victor Entertainment , where she released her single One Way Love . Emi released her first single show Me Your Love , in CD format, with the new record company in 2010. She then released her second studio album, which she called Contrast .
On April 7, 2012, Emi Maria announced that she was pregnant and would get married to the rapper Seeda .
