Emil Carthaus

Emil Carthaus (* 1860 or 1861 ; † 1933 in Berlin ) was a German geologist and speleologist .

Among other things, he examined the Bilstein cave in 1887, the Karhof cave in 1891 and the Veleda cave in 1909.

His finds in the Sauerland (remains of Ice Age mammals, stone tools, ceramic remains, jewelry and human skeletal remains) were exhibited in the back room of the old cave restaurant in Warstein , later they were stored in the storeroom of the Museum Haus Kupferhammer .
