Emil Klein (painter)
Emil Klein (* 1865 in Indianapolis , USA; † 1943 in Stuttgart ) was an American-German history painter and illustrator .
Emil Klein studied with Carl von Häberlin , Alexander von Liezen-Mayer and Adolf von Donndorf at the Stuttgart Academy until 1883 . He lived in Munich in 1884/85 , in Egypt in 1886 , and as an illustrator in Stuttgart since 1887. He became a German citizen in 1928. The estate is in the gallery of the city of Esslingen am Neckar .
Small illustrated u. a. the epic Hermann and Dorothea von Goethe , the Frithjofssage by Esaias Tegnér and the stories of the youthful writer Christoph von Schmid .
