Emil Kroymann
Emil Kroymann (born December 15, 1865 in Bordesholm ; † July 17, 1951 in Karlsruhe ) was a German classical philologist and headmaster of the Berlin-Steglitz high school .
Kroymann graduated from high school in Rendsburg . After studying classical philology and the Göttingen dissertation in 1893 on text criticism with Tertullian, he worked primarily on this author. As a teacher he worked in Plön , Düsseldorf, Essen and from 1909 Berlin-Steglitz, where he was promoted to senior director in 1919. He published a. a. a Greek school grammar. In 1925 he was elected as 1st chairman of the newly founded German Classical Philology Association. Werner Jaeger , whose Paideia concept he supported, supported him as second chairman.
The Steglitz grammar school became known as the place of origin of the wandering bird in the empire.
