Emil Rached

Emil Assad Rached (born June 20, 1943 in Vera Cruz , São Paulo , † October 15, 2009 in Campinas , São Paulo ) was a Brazilian basketball player and actor . With a height of 2.20 m, he played on the position of the center .

Life

From 1964 to 1980 he worked for the basketball team at the Palmeiras São Paulo club . From 1966 to 1971 he was a member of the Brazilian national basketball team and took part in the FIBA World Championship in 1967 and won the bronze medal with the team. At the Pan American Games in 1971 , he climbed to first place with the team. In total, he scored 114 points in 18 games for Brazil in official competitions.

In 1977, 1978 and 1982, Rached had a few roles in television comedies, where his size was repeatedly alluded to. Since 2003 worked as a sales representative. He died in Barão Geraldo Hospital after a pulmonary embolism and four cardiac arrests.
