Emil Sirotek

Emil Sirotek (born March 20, 1937 in Prague ; † October 1, 1999 , ibid) was a Czech cameraman .

Life

Emil Sirotek finished his studies in 1954 at the Academy of Fine Arts, Prague , where he trained as a cameraman. He then worked as a photographer at Barrandov Studios , where he documented recordings in preparation for filming. A few years later he became a camera assistant and in 1970 he made his debut as a cameraman for a feature film with Věra Plívová-Šimková's family film Red Fox, Mice and Gallows . This was followed by other feature films such as The Fairy Tale Bride , The Magic Raven Rumburak and the DEFA production How to feed a donkey as well as collaborations with film directors such as Jaromil Jireš and Václav Vorlíček . For his work on Řád he was nominated for the Czech film award Český lev in 1994 as best cameraman .
