Emil Strodthoff

Emil Strodthoff (born January 12, 1900 in Berge , Lower Saxony; † May 22, 1980 ) was a German politician, first of the FDP and later right-wing organizations.

Life

Strodthoff studied philology after graduating from high school and graduated with a doctorate. He then worked as a feature editor and main editor. After the Second World War he was temporarily president of the German authors' association in Hanover . Since 1948 he was district chairman of the FDP in Bochum and a member of the Ruhr district committee. Strodthoff was also a city councilor in Bochum from 1952 to 1957.

From 1953 to 1955 he was a member of the Regional Assembly of Westphalia-Lippe and in the 3rd to 5th legislative period from July 13, 1954 to July 23, 1966 a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia ( state list ). From 1957 to 1966 he was the second vice president of the state parliament. He was also a member of the WDR Broadcasting Council .

In 1966 Strodthoff left the FDP and had been a member of the right-wing National Liberal Action and the German Union since 1970 .
