Emilian Bratu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Emilian Bratu (born August 8, 1904 in Bucharest , † March 31, 1991 ) was a Romanian chemical engineer . He founded the training of chemical engineers in Romania. Together with the Austrian physical chemist Otto Redlich , he studied the dissociation constant of heavy water .

life and work

He was born in Bucharest and studied at the National School of Bridges and Roads (later Bucharest Polytechnic University ). He then attended the Technical University of Vienna and specialized in physical chemistry and electrochemistry . Here he met Otto Redlich, with whom he investigated the properties of heavy water in the years 1932 to 1935.
