Emma Posman studied singing with Hendrickje Van Kerckhove at the Royal Conservatory in Ghent and graduated in 2016 with a “great distinction”. She also attended master classes with Olaf Bär , Barbara Bonney , Bernarda Fink , Valerie Girard , Edda Moser , Anne Sofie von Otter , Christianne Stotijn , Zeger Vandersteene , Roger Vignoles and Claudia Visca . Together with the pianist Bert De Rycke , she completed a one-year international masterclass program for song duos, which was initiated by the German baritone Udo Reinemann . The singer has competed in several international singing competitions and has won prizes, including the Renata Tebaldi competition, the Bell'Arte competition, the Triomphe de l'art in Brussels and the Honda competition for classical music. She was a finalist in Voix Nouvelles (VN), presented by Natalie Dessay , and in the Maria Caniglia competition.

In 2017 she was engaged at the MM Academy des Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, and in 2018 she was accepted into the Young Singers Project of the Salzburg Festival . There she took on the role of Queen of the Night in the Magic Flute for children . As the singer of this role in the festival production on August 4, 2018 Grosses Festspielhaus , Albina Shagimuratova had to cancel due to illness, Posman jumped a few hours. According to the print media, there should not have been any other singer in Salzburg at the time who had this role in her repertoire. Her stepping in was greeted with enthusiasm by the public and the press, and the Kronenzeitung wrote of a new “star in the opera sky”. This performance was streamed live by ORF and Arte , which is why the debut of the jumper could be followed by several hundred thousand people.

Posman's concert repertoire ranges from the sacred works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi through the Classical and Romantic periods to central works of the 20th century, for example by Gabriel Fauré . In the Lied sector she interprets works by Franz Schubert , Richard Strauss and Arnold Schönberg . In March 2018 she took over the soprano solo in Vaughan Williams ' 3rd Symphony with the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen , the Flanders Symphony Orchestra.
