Emma Vyssotsky (born October 23, 1894 in Media , Pennsylvania , † May 1975), born Emma TR Williams, was an American astronomer .

Vyssotsky received her Ph.D. in 1930. in astronomy from Harvard College . She spent her entire career at the McCormick Observatory at the University of Virginia . Her area of ​​expertise was the movements of stars, especially in the Milky Way .

Vyssotsky married the Russian astronomer Alexander N. Vyssotsky in 1929 . They have a son together, Victor A. Vyssotsky ( mathematician and computer scientist ).

She was awarded the Annie Jump Cannon Prize for Astronomy by the American Astronomical Society in 1946.
