Victor Vyssotsky
Victor A. Vyssotsky (born February 26, 1931 , † December 24, 2012 in Orleans , Massachusetts ) was a mathematician and computer scientist .
He was born the son of Alexander N. Vyssotsky and the mathematician Emma TR Williams (namesake of the asteroid Vyssotsky 1600 ). He worked on the Multics project together with Robert Morris Sr , Douglas McIlroy , who invented the computer game Darwin . In this game, several computer programs compete against each other. Newer virus developers used the same technique to create viruses . Even if the Multics project was barely successful, it inspired Ken Thompson to develop UNIX .
