Emma Wanda from Arbter

Emma Wanda von Arbter (born October 26, 1819 in Lemberg , † December 19, 1858 in Vienna ) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Von Arbter wrote poetry at a young age. On the occasion of the birthday of Emperor Franz I , she wrote the Oestreichs Doppeladler festival , which was performed in Lemberg in 1834. The following year her collection of poems, Lenzblüthen , was published, which she dedicated to King Ludwig of Bavaria . Von Arbter's father died in 1836. In the same year she moved with her mother to Vienna, where she wrote novellas and stories for magazines and journals such as Die Humoristen . Works such as Hotel Chiaja , Windsorcastle , The Rose of Innisfallen and The Rautenkranz on Lake Como were created . She also studied medicine as the doctors could not cure her of a chronic illness. She died in Vienna at the age of 39.
