Emmanuel Ekpo (born December 20, 1987 in Ekori ) is a Nigerian football player .

The midfielder will play for the Norwegian first division club FK Haugesund until the end of the 2014 season . Since then he has been without a club.

Career

Ekpo played at the Calabar Rovers youth academy . In 2006/07 he played for Akwa United in the Nigerian Premier League , the 2007/08 season he began with Enyimba FC .

In early 2008 trained in preparation for a time when MLS -Klub Columbus Crew and returned in March after Nigeria returned to star in the crucial Olympic qualifier against South Africa. In April Ekpo signed a professional contract with Columbus. In the following years he became a regular player in the team and achieved the championship title in the MLS in 2008. At the end of the 2011 season, his contract was not renewed.

In February 2012 Ekpo signed with Molde FK and two and a half years later moved to FK Haugesund.

National team

Ekpo was in the Nigerian Olympic squad for the 2008 Olympic Football Tournament in China and won the silver medal with it.

He made his international debut for the Nigerian national soccer team on September 6, 2011 in a friendly against Argentina . In the 3-1 defeat of Nigeria he was substituted on in the 70th minute.
