Emmanuel Ifeanyi Ekwueme (born November 22, 1979 in Aboh Mbaise , Nigeria ) is a former Nigerian football player .
Club career
Ekwueme began his professional career in 1996 at the Nigerian club NEPA Lagos , for which he played for one season. He then moved to Jasper United FC , where he worked for three seasons. In 1999 he was signed by Polonia Warszawa . With the Polish capital club, he won the Polish championship and the league cup in 2000, and then the Polish cup and the Polish Supercup in 2001 . During his time in Poland from 1999 to 2004 he also played for Widzew Łódź and Wisła Płock . At the end of 2004 he moved to Greece to Aris Saloniki . Here, however, he could not prevail and moved to the second division Veria FC after the season . For Veria, he completed 18 league games. After the season, his contract was not renewed and he was without a club for one season. In 2007 he signed a contract with the Polish second division club Unia Janikowo , but was not used because of differences with the board and moved to the league rivals Warta Poznań . From the end of 2008 to 2010 he played for the Polish second division club Znicz Pruszków . For the 2010/11 season he said goodbye to professional football and moved to the 4th Polish League at LZS Piotrówka. After the first half of the 2013/14 season, Emmanuel Ekwueme ended his football career.
National team
Emmanuel Ekwueme played twelve times for the Nigerian national soccer team between 2000 and 2003 . He participated with Nigeria in the 2004 Africa Cup, where Nigeria finished third.
