Emmanuela Aichinger
Emmanuela Aichinger OSB , née Agnes Aichinger (born February 6, 1917 in Aign , Achslach ; † February 15, 2005 in Tettenweis ) was a German religious and abbess of the Tettenweis monastery .
Life
Born Agnes Aichinger, she entered the Benedictine Abbey of St. Gertrud on January 14, 1953 , where she took the religious name Emmanuela. She made the temporary vows on August 8, 1954, and the perpetual vows on August 10, 1957 .
On April 29, 1967, she was elected 3rd abbess by the convent. On 21 May 1967 she received by Simon Konrad Landersdorfer the benediction , commonly known as "Äbtissinnenweihe". Their motto was: Serve in love - in caritate servire. On November 18, 1992, Emmanuela resigned as abbess at the age of 75.
