Emmanuelle Seyboldt (* 18th August 1970 in Lunel as Emmanuelle Carrière ) is a French Protestant pastor. She has been President of the United Protestant Church of France ( Église protestante unie de France ) since 2017 .

biography

Raised in Saint-Étienne as the daughter of a militant communist and a father who was involved in the Reformed Church of France , she studied at the Faculté de théologie protestante de Paris and at the Faculté de théologie protestante de Montpellier . In 1994 she took up her first parish in Saint-Laurent-du-Pape in the Ardèche department and moved to Châtellerault in the Vienne department three years later . In the Reformed Church of France from 2006 she worked as a catechist and editor of the regional magazine Échanges .

From 2013 she worked as a pastor in Besançon and at the same time as president of the regional council Est of the Reformed Church; after its merger to form the United Church until 2016 as Vice President of the Est-Montbéliard Regional Council .

On May 27, 2017, she was elected President of the Conseil National by the National Synod of the United Protestant Church of France in Lille . She thus succeeded Laurent Schlumberger .

Seyboldt is married to the pastor Andreas Seyboldt from Germany. They have seven children together (four and three each from a previous marriage).

Awards

Seyboldt was appointed Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 2019 .
