Emmy Göber

Emmy Göber (born March 30, 1929 in Kemeten , Burgenland ; † November 17, 2010 in Gleisdorf , Styria ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Emmy Göber, daughter of the school director Alfred Böhm and his wife Emma, ​​graduated from the teacher training institute in Graz after attending compulsory schools , where she passed the Matura in 1948 . After that she worked until 1960 as a teacher in secondary schools in Stegersbach , Graz and most recently Gleisdorf. From 1960 to 1973 she was a housewife and took care of the upbringing of her two children, which she had after their wedding in 1952. In 1973 Göber returned to work as an employee and worked in her husband's company.

In 1975 Göber began her political career when she moved into the Gleisdorf municipal council as a VP deputy . From 1977 she became involved in the Wirtschaftsbund , where she was elected deputy chairwoman for Gleisdorf in 1978. In 1980 he was elected as ÖVP Vice-Vice President von Gleisdorf.

From August 1983 to December 1986 Göber was a member of the Federal Council in Vienna . She was then sworn in as a member of the ÖVP in the Styrian state parliament , to which she belonged for a legislative period until 1991.
