Empty Tremor is an Italian progressive metal band from Mezzano that was founded in 1993 under the name Noise Pollution .

history

The band was founded in 1993 under the name Noise Pollution by drummer Stefano Ruzzi (14 years old at the time), guitarist Christian Tombetti (15 years), bassist Dennis Randi (16 years), guitarist Marco Guerrini (12 years) and singer Davide De Paoli founded. Together they covered songs by Metallica , Guns N 'Roses , Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin . A short time later, keyboardist Daniele Liverani joined the cast and they started writing their own songs. In 1995 the group changed their name to Empty Tremor, with Matteo Babini now represented as the new singer, and recorded their first demo Apocolokyntosys . In 1996 singer Giò De Luigi joined the band, after which the band developed new songs. This resulted in the debut album Apocolokyntosys in 1997 in cooperation between Pick Up Records and Rising Sun Records , or for Japan via Fandango Records .

In 1999 the second album Eros and Thanatos followed via Elevate Records , SPV and Audioglobe 99Th Floor , or for Korea via One Music . In the same year the band was also heard on the sampler Voices - A Tribute To Dream Theater . In 2000 singer Giò De Luigi left the band to devote himself to his own music project. In the same year the band opened a concert for Yngwie Malmsteen . In 2003, Oliver Hartmann joined the band as singer , after which the recording of the next album began, which was released in 2004 under the name The Alien Inside via Frontiers Records . In the same year of release, the band opened for Dream Theater .

In 2006 keyboardist Daniele Liverani left the band to pursue his solo career. He was followed shortly after by drummer Stefano Ruzzi. The following year Marco Scott Gilardi joined the line-up as the new keyboardist and began writing new material. Since no suitable drummer has yet been found, guitarist Marco Guerrini also took over this position. Singer Giò De Luigi could be heard again on the album Iridium , Dario Ciccioni took over the drums. The album was recorded in July 2009 at Fear Studio under the direction of Marco Scott Gilardi . The album was released in 2010 via SG Records .
