Emramescha , actually Imirameschta , was an ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) of the 13th Dynasty ( Second Intermediate Period ). He ruled around 1711 BC. Chr.

Granite statue of the king found in Tanis

It is only known from two colossal statues from Tanis , an inscribed pearl and the Turin royal papyrus. The colossi originally come from Memphis , on them Ptah is also called , south of its wall . His name "Emramescha" ("Imi-ra-meschta" = troop commander / general ) often gave rise to speculation that a general usurped the throne here . However, the name Mermescha is a normal name of the 13th Dynasty, so this thesis remains unproven.
