Engelbert Eberhard

Engelbert Eberhard (born March 23, 1893 in Rhumspringe ; † October 20, 1958 in Würzburg ) was a German Augustinian hermit .

Life

Before graduating from high school, Franz Gustav Eberhard took on the religious name Engelbert when he was dressed . After graduating from high school on July 14, 1914 and the one-year novitiate in the Münnerstadt monastery , he made simple profession on October 5, 1915. He studied philosophy and theology at the University of Würzburg in the Augustinian monastery in Würzburg . After being ordained a priest in the church to the good shepherd by Bishop Ferdinand von Schlör on September 1, 1918, he studied philology at the University of Würzburg from the winter semester of 1918/1919. From 1953 to 1958 he was prior general of his order.
