Karl Willigis Eckermann

Karl Willigis Eckermann OESA (born November 29, 1934 in Rhumspringe ) is a German religious priest and Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

He received his doctorate in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1966 . From 1969 to 1970 he taught as professor adiunctus at the International College St. Monica in Rome . He was a research assistant at the SFB 8 in Tübingen from 1970 to 1973. He worked at the Center for Augustinus Research in Würzburg from 1973 to 1976 and 1978 to 1981. In 1977 he received his habilitation at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . In 1982 he was appointed professor at the University of Osnabrück , Vechta . Since 2000 he has been a retired professor at the University of Vechta . He lives in the Augustinian monastery in Würzburg .

His research interests are Catholic dogmatics , the history of theology in the late Middle Ages and editions of theological works by medieval representatives of the Augustinian School (including Hugolin von Orvieto and Simon Fidati von Cascia).
