Edgar Papp

Edgar Papp (* 1938 in Fulda ) is a German Germanic Medievalist .

Life

He completed his German and Romance studies in Munich and Marburg with the state examination / doctorate (Medieval Studies) in Marburg in 1965. He was an assistant and from 1969 to 1975 academic councilor in Tübingen . He taught from 1975 to 1995 as a professor for older German language and literature at the University of Osnabrück / Vechta and from 1995 to 2002 at the University of Göttingen .

His main research interests are early Middle High German literature, fable research ( Sebastian Brant ) and Grimm correspondence.
