Engelbrecht Brasche
Engelbrecht Brasche (* 1673 in Lübeck ; † March 15, 1751 ibid) was a Lübeck merchant and councilor.
Life
Engelbrecht Brasche traveled to Denmark and Sweden in 1693 as a clerk for the Lübeck merchant Georg Wilken . In 1695 he went into business for himself together with his brother. After he had previously held civil offices, he was elected to the council of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck in 1738 and temporarily held the office of treasurer in the council. In 1739 there was a scandal in Lübeck because the Lübeck council had to be forced by the citizens to add four more councilors. Brasche was married to a daughter of the Lübeck businessman Jürgen Hübens, uncle of the Lübeck mayor and businessman Jakob Hübens , who died in 1731 .
