Engelhardia serrata is a species of tree from the walnut family(Juglandaceae) that occursin East and Southeast Asia.

features

Engelhardia serrata is a tree that can reach a height of 12 m. The leaves are pinnate in pairs, rarely unpaired, and 15 to 25 cm long. The petiole is 1 to 2 cm long and hairy, the rachis is hairy too . The 6 to 14 leaflets are sessile or only briefly stalked, the blade is elliptical to elliptical-lanceolate, 6 to 13 cm long and 2.5 to 4.5 cm wide, the underside is hairy. The leaf margin is irregularly serrated or completely, the end is pointed or pointed. Flowering time is in February.

The nuts are spherical and around 3 mm in size and are wire-haired. The wings are hirsute at the base. The middle wing is 2 to 2.5 cm long, the side about 1.3 cm. Fruit ripens in April.

distribution

Engelhardia serrata is found in southwest China, Indochina, Indonesia and the Philippines. In China it grows on mountain slopes at 700 to 1000 m above sea level.
