EniChem is the name of a former Italian chemical company. EniChem was created in 1983 as a spin-off of the chemicals business from Ente Nazionale Idrocarburi (Eni) .
history
The chemical industry in Italy was originally dominated by Montecatini and, after the merger with Edison, by Montedison .
EniChem was on 1 January 1999 in Syndial renamed. Large parts of the business were later spun off as Polimeri Europa .
