Enno Edzard Popkes

Enno Edzard Popkes (* 1969 ) is a Protestant theologian .

Life and work

He studied Protestant theology and philosophy in Hamburg and Tübingen from 1993 to 1999 as a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . From 1999 to 2005 he was an assistant at the Protestant Theological Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , where he completed the doctoral procedure in 2004 with the evaluation of the dissertation and all partial examinations of the Rigorosum with summa cum laude . From 2005 to 2007 he worked on the habilitation within the framework of the Graduate School Leitbilder der Spätantike at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena . From 2007 to 2010 he was a Heisenberg scholarship holder of the German Research Foundation (during which time he was a substitute professor in Munich [winter semester 2007/2008; summer semester 2009] and Jena [summer semester 2008]). Since 2010 he has been professor for the history and archeology of early Christianity and its environment at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität Kiel .
