Bernd Janowski
Bernd Janowski (born April 30, 1943 in Stettin ) is a Protestant theologian and Old Testament scholar .
Janowski received his doctorate in 1980 on the subject of "Atonement as a salvation event". In 1984 he completed his habilitation in Tübingen on the subject of "Certainty of salvation and the epiphany of salvation". From 1986 to 1991 he taught in Hamburg and from 1991 to 1995 in Heidelberg . He gave his inaugural lecture in the old auditorium of the University of Heidelberg on the songs of the Servant of God (Ebed JHWH songs) in the book Deutero-Isaiah . From 1995 to 2012 he held the chair of the Old Testament with a focus on theology of the Old Testament at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen , his successor being Martin Leuenberger from October 1, 2012 . In 1996 he became a full member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences .
He is married to Christine Janowski .
