Enno Mõts (born October 14, 1974 in Tartu ) is an Estonian officer with the rank of brigadier general . Since 2016 he has been the commander of the Estonian Military Academy.

Life

Enno Mõts was born in 1974 in Tartu, the second largest city in what was then the Estonian SSR .

Military career

Promotions

From 1992 to 1996 Enno Mõts attended the newly established Estonian Academy for Public Security, after which he served in the Kuperjanov Infantry Battalion. After completing an advanced course in the USA, he took on various tasks in the field of artillery troops in the defense forces from 1999 . In 2005 he moved to the Estonian Military Academy, where he was initially employed as a lecturer at the Chair of Tactics, which he took over in 2007. Associated with this was the promotion to major in the same year.

As a staff officer, Enno Mõts remained at the military academy until 2012, during which time he attended postgraduate studies at the University of Tartu , which he completed in 2011 with a master's degree in social sciences. He was then used as the commander of the Northeast Defense District. In 2014, he moved to the southern defense district in the same position. When the Estonian defense concept was changed in 2015, the southern defense district was transferred to the second brigade. Mõts then became their first commandant. From 2015 to 2016 he was an advisor to the General Staff for training. In 2016 he took command of the Estonian Military Academy. In this post he was promoted to Brigadier General in June 2020.
