The Ennsberg ( 1373  m above sea level ) is a secondary peak of the Hühnerkogel ( 1474  m ) in the Upper Austrian Ennstal . It belongs to the Almkogel massif in the Dürrensteig ridge, on whose eastern side ridge its summit lies. The Ennsberg is the local mountain of Kleinreifling , which lies at its eastern foot on the Enns . The Seitengrat of chicken Kogel is in the northwest from the trench at Küpfern , to the south by Hammergraben separated from Almkogel, connecting saddle called transition and is located at 1216  m .

The summit can be approached without a path on the marked hiking trail to the Hühnerkogel up to about 50 meters in altitude, but it is less rewarding compared to the treeless Hühnerkogel summit with its large summit cross decorated with an edelweiss. The latter is from Kleinreifling - steeply over Dürreck or up to Ennsboden on the forest road over Am Berg as well as through one of the ditches and over the transition .

geology

The Ennsberg is located in the area of the Weyerer arches , in which the tectonic structures run in a north-south direction. The area east of the Almkogel summit is mainly made up of the main dolomite of the Lunzer ceiling .
