Enochian Theory is a British progressive rock and metal band from Portsmouth formed in 2004.

history

The band was formed towards the end of 2004. Together they developed a few songs, which resulted in their debut album A Monument to the Death of an Idea , which was recorded, mixed and co-produced in June 2006. The band started their own label called Anomalousz Music Records in January 2007. Seven months later, the band also signed a deal with Plastic Head Distribution for distribution.

In August 2008, work began on the second album. As a producer, it was David Castillo worked. After the work on this was finished, Evolution: Creatio Ex Nihilio was only published in Europe in August 2009 . In the same year the band also performed at ProgPower Europe and was nominated for two awards at the Italian Prog Awards . Another gig with Katatonia followed in November .

In May 2010, the band reached a deal with Mascot Records for a re-release of Evolution: Creatio Ex Nihilio , which happened on September 27th. The album received reviews in various magazines such as German Rock Hard or German Metal Hammer . In July 2010 the band performed at the metal camp in Slovenia , which was followed by a European tour in September with Spock's Beard .

In March 2011 a tour of Great Britain followed with Jurojin and Touchstone . After the band had already started work on another album at the end of last year, the group went to the British Aubitt Studios in August 2011 to record the next album with producer Rob Aubrey . In 2012 the album Life ... And All It Entails was released. A music video for the song The Fire Around the Lotus was also recorded.

The band plays classic progressive rock and metal and is compared to bands like Riverside , Pain of Salvation , Fates Warning and Anathema .
