Ensemble time jump
The Ensemble Zeitsprung is an ensemble for classical music of the 20th and 21st centuries based in Munich .
It was founded in 2006 by Markus Elsner . The ensemble's concert programs are characterized by a special dramaturgy in which new compositions are often combined with works from earlier eras. Working with composers from the younger generation plays an important role. The ensemble has its own concert series, which takes place in changing halls of the Kulturzentrum am Gasteig (Munich) and is funded by the cultural department of the city of Munich . The ensemble has made guest appearances in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and the Ukraine. The debut CD with works by Rodion Schtschedrin and Boris Tishchenko was released in December 2012 on the Thorofon label. In 2016 a CD with ensemble works by Johannes X. Schachtner followed on NEOS.
