The ensemble cantissimo is a vocal ensemble of 24 professional singers from Germany and Switzerland .

history

The ensemble cantissimo was founded in 1994 on the occasion of a concert with early baroque music as a vocal octet . Under the direction of Markus Utz (Konstanz conductor, Münster organist and choral conducting professor at the Zurich University of the Arts ), the vocal ensemble concentrates on the development and performance of unknown choral music, in particular on a cappella singing.

The ensemble cantissimo had its first appearances at the Heiligkreuzer Concerts in Kempten . This was followed by appearances in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Israel, mostly with themed programs, rarely heard works and world premieres of new music in concert series.
