Jürgen Ensthaler

Jürgen Ensthaler (born March 8, 1952 in Königslutter ) is a German lawyer and university professor and former judge.

Life

Jürgen Ensthaler studied law and economics at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . In 1982 he was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD, 1984 in Braunschweig as Dr. rer. pole. After his habilitation in law in Göttingen, he accepted a professorship at the University of Paderborn in 1991 . From 1993 to 2005 he held the chair for civil and commercial law at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern . Since 2005 he has held the chair for commercial, corporate and technical law at the TU Berlin .

Ensthaler initially focused on corporate law issues. In the context of the political opening in the 1990s, he advised the Chinese government on the reorganization of Chinese corporation law. After moving to the TU Berlin , Ensthaler devoted himself more to topics relating to the connection between technology and law, as well as new media. In this context he became the scientific director of the service potential in personalized medicine at the University of Potsdam . In an advisory capacity, Ensthaler worked for the legal committee of the Bundestag, but also for institutions of the EU. a. advised the Bundestag on the introduction of ancillary copyright law for press publishers.

Ensthaler worked as a judge in the 2nd main office from 2000 to 2014, most recently in the Senate at the Federal Patent Court in Munich.
