Enzo Leijnse (born July 16, 2001 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch cyclist who competes in races on track and road .
Athletic career
Like many other Dutch cyclists, Enzo Leijnse started out as a speed skater . At the age of eight he switched to cycling, following the example of his father and sister.
In 2017 Leijnse was the Dutch junior champion in scratch on the track, the following year in individual and team pursuit . Also in 2018 he won the prestigious Swiss junior race GP Rüebliland . 2019 he became Vice European Junior Champion in the points race on the track and vice-champion of the juniors in the individual time trial on the road, road race he finished fourth. In the same year he won his first national title in elite with Maikel Zijlaard , Casper van Uden , Vincent Hoppezak and Philip Heijnen in the team pursuit.
For 2020 Enzo Leijnse received his first contract with Team Sunweb .
