Ephes Rian

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ephen Rian is an Upper Austrian post-hardcore band from Großraming, founded in 2002 .

history

Ephen Rian, named after a cartoon character of a friend of his, was founded in November 2002 and published a song on the Greek sampler Shock from the Underground just two weeks after the band was founded . In 2003 she recorded her first demo, Heroes Don't Ask Why , which was self-distributed in 2004. 2005 followed on Wynona Records their first EP The Special Referendum , which was released worldwide, unusual for a new band. The band then toured Austria and its neighboring countries, including as the opening act for Billy Talent , Kettcar , Tribute to Nothing and Waterdown . The official website will announce in early 2006 that three more songs have been recorded in the studio. The songs Spread My Wings, Framing The Facts and Avenue View are a continuation of the EP released in 2005. A music video will be produced for the single Spread My Wings under Markus Andritsch's direction. In 2007, the band members focus on their respective subjects, but also recorded songs that have not yet been published.

The band is friends with the Linz band Estate .

style

The band plays a style that is strongly reminiscent of the smoothly produced, brisk and catchy post-hardcore American bands like Thrice . More typical for Emo are the changes in the vocals, although the sound - also because of the pop melody lines and easy-catchy song structures - results in comparisons with bands like Senses Fail .
