The EPLAN Software & Service GmbH & Co. KG (as a brand name in the spelling EPLAN ) developed CAE - and CAD services to optimize product development processes. EPLAN is part of the Friedhelm Loh Group , based in Haiger, Hesse.
The company employs around 1,000 people worldwide and is represented in 50 countries. The German locations - in addition to the head office in Monheim am Rhein - are in Chemnitz , Hamburg , Hanover , Munich , Stuttgart , Berlin and Titisee-Neustadt .
history
In 1984 Harald and Renate Wiechers founded Wiechers & Partner Datentechnik GmbH based in Langenfeld (Rhineland) and named their product EPLAN.
In 1986 Friedhelm Loh, owner of Rittal (manufacturer of switch cabinets and accessories), joined Wiechers & Partner Datentechnik GmbH. In the same year the first German branches were founded in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Munich. In 1987 Wiechers & Partner moved to Monheim am Rhein . In March 1999 the Wiechers sold their company to Rittal. Since January 1, 2000, the company has been operating under the name EPLAN Software & Service GmbH & Co. KG.
In 2006, the EPLAN platform was introduced, which models the interaction of electrical, fluid and measurement, control and regulation technology on a uniform database.
Products
EPLAN offers CAE and CAD solutions for different areas of application:
- EPLAN Electric P8 is a CAE solution for the planning, documentation and administration of electrotechnical automation projects.
- EPLAN Harness proD is a CAD and CAE software solution for the construction and documentation of cable harnesses.
- EPLAN Fluid is a CAE solution for the automated project planning and documentation of circuits in fluid power systems in hydraulics, pneumatics, cooling and lubrication.
- EPLAN Pro Panel is a CAE solution for the 3D engineering of control cabinets and switchgear.
- EPLAN Smart Wiring visualizes every step in the wiring of a control cabinet.
- EPLAN Preplanning is a CAE solution for the technical pre-planning of machines and systems.
- The EPLAN Data Portal allows online access to electronic product catalogs from numerous component manufacturers and the transfer of the components offered into the EPLAN documentation using drag & drop.
- EPLAN solutions can be integrated into PDM / PLM and ERP using standard interfaces.
- There is also an extensive range of training courses and courses; up to the EPLAN Certified Engineer degree .
Configuration and automated creation of circuit diagrams:
- EPLAN Cogineer - fully automated creation of electrical and fluid plans
- EPLAN Engineering Configuration (EEC) is a solution for the mechatronic configuration and automated documentation of data for sales, engineering and production.
